A-VDGS (Advanced Visual Docking Guidance Systems) feature electronic displays which perform the functions of an AGNIS/PAPA installation, although with much greater accuracy. They may also provide collision avoidance from static objects. An infrared high definition camera is scanning the entire area for possible objects, affecting the safety of the aircraft. The A-VDGS, is equipped with a low visibility function allowing aircraft to park in extremely poor visibility conditions.

A-VDGS 는 AGNIS(센터라인으로 진입하기)와 PAPA (정확한 자리에 멈추기) 의 기능을 수행하는 전자 디스플레이를 특징으로 하며, 더욱 훌륭한 정확도를 가지고 있다. 정지된 물체와의 충돌 방지 기능도 제공한다. 고해상도의 적외선 카메라가 전 구역의 항공기의 안전에 영향을 주는 가능한 모든 물체들을 스캔한다. A-VDGS 는 항공기가 시정이 극도로 안좋은 조건에서도 주기를 할 수 있도록 저시정 기능을 갖추고 있다.

통상 항공기가 주기를 할 때는 항공기 유도사 (Marshaller) 의 가이드를 받는다. 하지만 사람이 하는 일은 언제나 기계로 대체가 가능한 법이다. A-VDGS (Advanced-Visual Docking Guidance System, 시각 주기 유도 시스템)은 ‘항공기 유도사’ 없이, 항공기가 터미널에 진입하여 주기할 때 필요한 각종 정보를 제공해주는 최첨단 안내 시스템을 말한다. 우리가 취항하는 해외 노선은 방콕 및 클락 공항에서 A-VDGS를 운영하고 있다.

In airplanes, jump seats can be located in cockpits or passenger cabins. In cockpits, jump seats are provided for individuals who are not operating the aircraft. These might include trainee pilots, off-duty crew members in transition to another airport, government officials, or airline staff. The passenger cabin jump seats are used by the cabin crew, especially during takeoff and landing. These jump seats are normally located near emergency exits so that flight attendants can quickly open the exit door for an emergency evacuation. The passenger cabin jump seats usually fold out of the way when not in use to keep aisles, workspaces, and emergency exits clear.

항공기에서 jump seat은 조종실 또는 객실에 위치한다. 조종실에 있는 jump seat은 항공기를 조종하지 않는 개인들을 위해 제공된다. 조종훈련생, 다른 공항으로 이동하는 비근무 승무원, 공무원 (국토부 점검관 등), 또는 항공사 직원들이 이에 속한다. 객실에 있는 jump seat은 항공기 이착륙 시 캐빈 승무원들이 착석한다. 이런 jump seat은 비상 대피 시 캐빈 승무원들이 빨리 비상구 문을 열 수 있도록 비상구 근처에 위치해 있다. 객실 jump seat은 보통 사용하지 않을 때는 통로, 업무 공간, 그리고 비상구 공간을 확보하기 위해 접혀 있다.

jump seat 이라는 용어는 1860년대에 처음 등장했다. 그것은 말이 끄는 마차 뒷자리에 설치된 작고 접히는 의자였다. 그 시대에는 주인의 여행에 동행하는, 주인의 옆자리에 앉기에는 신분이 낮은 식모나 하인 또는 노예들이 jump seat에 앉았다. 고용주의 수행을 위해 필요시 마차 안팎으로 뛰어 (jump) 나가고 들어가야 했기에, 그 자리를 jump seat이라고 부르게 되었다.

항공기 객실에 있는 jump seat은 통상적으로 근무중인 승무원들이 착석을 하지만, 항공편이 만석일 경우 일반 손님이 아닌 직원 티켓(non-revenue passenger)을 가진 사람도 착석이 가능하다. (항공사마다 내부 규정은 다름)
